Oakwood is not a high volume or

commercial kennel.

I work to produce superior German

Pinschers in a small home raised breeding

program with a high level of puppy

socialization and the best of everything.

I produce one or two exceptional litters each

year and many of my pups go to repeat

buyers.

Explanation on Inbreeding Coefficients: The inbreeding coefficient (COI) shows how diverse the pedigree is and the COI calculates the percentage of inbreeding based on how many times the same ancestors are found in a pedigree. The Ancestor Loss Coefficient (AVK) is the amount of genetics diversity lost within the gene pool by doing a particular breeding combination. The goal is for theAVK to be high and the COI to be low. Genetic experts recommend a COI no higher than 6% in six generations with a recommendation of under 3% in six generations to be ideal. You can research the COI and health results of most breeding German Pinschers worldwide by using the German Pinscher Global Database. Health information is reported by the dog owners and should be independently verified. Contrary to some breeders popular belief that “line breeding/inbreeding” is the only method to maintain breed type, here at Oakwood, I have proven that excellence and maximizing genetic diversity can both be achieved. Our beautiful, typey and heathy dogs, are being produced without putting the gene pool at greater risk for genetic health and temperament problems due to inbreeding or line breeding.

Litter Plans

We have a late June litter planned out of CH Lilla Enebys Obsession, SWN and CH Oakwood V Moonbrooks Dash It All To Pieces. Reds and B/T puppies expected. Advanced deposits will only be accepted from buyers who are flexible on color and gender.

Applications are always accepted.
